The level of customer service here is by far the best. The two ladies at the office Gracie and Pinky are so friendly and always upbeat. I like that the access hours are longer and the storage place seems to have really good security. Some sort of siren went off when I went to my storage and Pinky was quick to check on me. The storage place is kept very clean and there are carts you can use. They also have a restroom at the front office. I would definitely recommend this place!

I have been storing items at A1 for over a year and have been very pleased with the property, the staff and the unit I rent. The buildings and surrounding area are very clean and comfortably cool in the hallways and unit throughout the summer. The interiors lights are activated by motion sensors so it is easy to see as you walk down the hallways which, obviously, have no windows. I recently needed to rent a larger unit and contacted Grace. She has been incredibly helpful, kind, fun and professional. If I had questions and she was not available to take my call she got back to me very quickly. I never felt rushed to make a decision on which unit and location. No matter how trivial and sometimes ridiculous my questions were Grace handled them professionally and courteously. Thank you Grace! You are a huge asset to the company.

Gracie and Pinky were very pleasant to deal with. Pinky went out of her way to answer all of my questions and ensure that I was aware of all of the facility logistics. Happy I chose A1 for my storage needs.

Over the course of 2 and a half years I have experienced wonderful service from the staff and the facility. I moved several times over long distances and knowing A1 on Center had my stuff safe and worry free allowed me to focus on bigger obstacles during my moves. When I arrived back to vacate my unit, my belongings were clean, odor free, no pests or damages either. I highly recommend A1 Self Storage! Thanks you guys!

Great front desk service!
The ladies were super friendly and helpful.
I moved my stuff into my unit quickly and efficiently with the help of the huge rolling carts and the use of their great electric lift!
Temperature is great all through out the facility and the lightings pretty good as well.
Cold water and cups offered on the office are a definite bonus because as well all know..MOVING IS HOT HARD WORK!!!
All in all I am very satisfied with my whole experience thus far and would definitely refer A1 to any of my friends who needed a storage facility.

Great customer service! They were super helpful. I originally reserved my storage unit at the Spring St. location. I was worried that I might what I had reserved wouldn't be large enough for everything I needed to store. They were so helpful in finding me a unit at the Center location, so I wouldn't have to rent two storage units (they didn't have a larger unit at the Spring St. location). Thank you ladies for making my move so easy and uneventful.

Pinky has been great. Place is clean and convenient. Billing and paying are easy. Very secure. Easy access from Hwy 8 Freeway. Very kind employees. Even received a six-month reduced price without needing to ask. Easy in and out access with a secure entry/exit. Love it.

Grace helped us find a storage unit to fit our needs storing household items while staging our home. Grace was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and thorough. She explained everything completely and took me on a tour to see my options. The service was amazing and I would highly recommend the La Mesa Center Dr A1 location!

Great service at Center Drive! Both Grace and Pinky were very helpful, patient and polite. Grace explained the renting process and we went to view the actual units so I could get an idea of sizes. She explained all the pricing and updated me the next day by phone on availability. Pinky helped me with the actual rental paperwork and procedures. On the day of the move, they were even able to quickly transfer me to a smaller unit with a lower price as I had overestimated the size unit I would need... That is hard to beat! Very clean facility with convenient elevators and wheeled carts for moving things. Thank You!

Great customer service at A-1 on Center Drive. I requested a hold for a unit online on a Sunday. Monday morning Eric called to give me information about the unit and letme know when I could come in to secure it. When I visited the site, I met with Jenn. She gave me a tour and handled my transaction. Both Eric and Jenn were welcoming, friendly and professional. The facility was clean and well lit. I also like how the facility isn't open 24 hours. I trust that my belongings will be safe here.
I checked out of my unit at A-1 this weekend. I had my belongings there for over a year. All my interactions with Grace were great. She was always helpful, answered all my questions and was always professional. She even took the time to come out and help me one morning with the elevator when I was thoroughly frustrated. Kudos, Grace!! If I need storage again, I will be back. :)

My mom and I went to this storage on center Dr. Grace was in the office and was very nice, helpful and informative. The storage unit was clean and well taken care of. I would recommend using this place for your storage.

The staff is always helpful and kind. The facility is kept clean, even the bathroom. We started out with one unit and easily added two more as our storage need increased. The elevator to the 2nd and 3rd floor works out very well indeed. This is the first place anyone in the area should go for self-storage.

Grace and Pinky were very helpful and energetic. The only thing that bothered me was the price. $85 was way to much and I could find other storage units for $75. The only reason I would recommend A-1 storage is because of Grace and Pinky, if they weren't there I would send people to another unit that is cheaper and just as secure.

I'm giving this place 5 stars because the customer service we received was outstanding! We had called about pricing and then decided to come down to take a look at it. Pinky showed us the storage space and was very patient and bubbly. We reserved that space and when we came to do the paperwork a few days later it was such an easy process. Both girls that work there Pinky and Grace were very attentive to us and made sure we were taken care of. It was such an easy process especially considering my husband is deploying very soon and it was one less stress to worry about when he leaves. Thank you.

I don't write reviews; it's just not something I do. However, in early March, the customer service I received from a lovely lady named Grace at the front desk was so incredibly superb that here I am compelled to write one. Not only was she exceptionally polite and thorough with explaining plans that were suitable for my storage needs, but she was patient and decent enough to go out of her way to graciously show me two different sized units, TWICE at my request as I was being indecisive, and you could tell she wasn't anything but glad to do so.. just an unrealistically sincere human being.
I met her for all of a half hour, and left feeling like I witnessed one of the utmost outstanding customer service experiences I've ever had- if she was a waitress, she'd be the one that you'd want to give a 50% tip to.
Decent, genuine people like her could be placed in any kind of work environment and excel because she doesn't go through the motions like the majority of people who clock in with the sole motive of getting a check.
Management if you can hear me, you lucked out with having her, and hope you treat her as well as she treats your customers.

I had a good experience with this storage place. It's older than the one on spring street but there prices are so much better. We chose it due to the affordable price and special and we only needed it short term. The girls that work at the office are always so kind and helpful. When my boyfriend and I rented a storage the young lady Pinky was such a pleasure to deal with. She was so patient and friendly especially since it was our first time renting a storage. We would definitely use this place again if we ever need it in the future. The only thing I wish it had were more lights in the hall ways. It gets dark and there are no lights in the units. But above all the affordable prices and the excellent customer service is why I would come back.

The staff was so helpful and just so nice. My husband and I rented a unit here and the girls at the front office were just so helpful from beginning to end. Pinky and Grace were just so friendly and we're able to answer all my questions. When we moved in we couldn't locate one of those moving carts and without hesitation Pinky went and found one for me. The location is kind of in a busy area with tons of moving trucks but besides that, the customer service is wonderful. I will definitely recommend this to forger people!

Everyone in the office has been helpful.
My only negative comment has to do with the units themselves.
There are no lights in the units. You have to depend on light from the
hallway flourescents and they do not provide any light in a larger unit
that is down a hallway. Also there are no electical outlets in the hallways,
so I cannot use a utility light to help light my unit.
Since I wrote the above review several years ago, A-! has changed the lighting so that it turns on with motion and I do not have to turn on a timer at the end of the hallway. It is still dark in my unit, but I can use a flashlight or the flashlight feature on my cell phone.

Recommended by a friend when my husband and I were making the transition from our apartments to a home. Great experience all around - from the well-lit facilities, to the helpful girls in the office, to the great location - A+. We will definitely use again. Highly recommended.

STAFF at A1 Storage is FABULOUS! KIARA & TARA are a delightful team in the office! They are very Knowledgable w/ A-1's contracts, storage facility, products & pricing. They are always available to assist customers. This "Office Twosome" is filled with charisma & personailtiy...lots of respectful fun & smiles! I'm a disabled senior w/ Service Dog. KIARA & Tara provide me & my dog w/ excellent service! When I needed a second storage unit on the lower level due to my disabilities they contacted me IMMEDIATELY to get me, not only what I needed, but made sure the "walking distance" to storage was conveniently located near easy access for me. This was not part of my request....simply the "caring" ladies watching out for me! I now call them my "GRANDKIDS"...Grateful for their kindness and attention to details! This is a safe environment w/ a conscientious great staff !!Payments are made so easy! Thanks A-1 STORAGE! I now have 2 storages w/ you & highly recommend you! ..Wouldn't leave "STUFF" w/ any other company!

Experience? Absolutely wonderful. I came in from out of town thinking I was moving an aunt to a new apartment. Instead I needed to find a storage unit and was able to do so in minutes, at 9 on a Sunday morning. Kiara was fantastic and helped me secure the proper sized storage unit and purchase exactly the right number of boxes, rolls of tape, wrapping paper, etc.
I visited the storage unit several times over the next few days and every time it was as if I were their best friend. Friendly, knowledgable, good listeners (lots of sad stories), and access/transport of goods/security were great.
Only thing to note is the value of having a strong flashlight for the dark corners of the unit. But other than that, the 'Directors of First Impressions' job title perfectly fit.
